Thursday – Arrival & Grounding
Arrive at Cloudy Bay, settle into camp, meet your group, and get comfortable with your gear and tents. We share a nourishing welcome dinner before heading to the beach for a sunset workshop. Here, we set intentions, explore what brought each of us here, and ease into the rhythm of the wild with warm drinks.
The evening closes gently with journaling, stargazing, or simply resting in your tent.
Friday – Nourishing Your Body & Learning the Essentials
Begin with hot drinks, trail breakfast, and gentle stretches and breathwork.
We explore trail nutrition: food weight vs quality, carbs and protein, and building your own dehydrated meals for the rest of the weekend.
After lunch, we dive into hydration and water safety—recognising safe water, filtering vs tablets, how much to carry, spotting dehydration, and managing gut issues on the trail.
The afternoon turns to cooking on the trail: stove types, what’s safe during fire bans, how to pack and care for them, followed by making your own dinner using a provided stove.
We finish with a warm, grounded session on mindset, hygiene in the bush, periods, hormones, mental resilience, and building deep self-trust in the outdoors.
End the day with cocoa, a slow beach wander, quiet reflection, or rest.
Saturday – Safety, Integration & Bush Confidence
We begin slow with breakfast, warm drinks, breathwork and stretching, before moving into first aid for the trail: what to carry, how and when to use it, treating common injuries, and working through practical “what if” scenarios.
After a short break, we explore safety gear and devices—EPIRBs, satellite communicators, tracking technology, and essential emergency equipment. You’ll learn what each tool does and when to use it.
Following lunch, we shift into navigation and bush safety: Tassie’s unique and unpredictable weather, fire restrictions, Parks & Wildlife Tasmania guidelines, logbooks, pathogen stations, park passes, and how to enter and leave wild spaces respectfully.
The day wraps with understanding local tracks and choosing the right walk—flora and fauna awareness, protecting breeding zones, walking lightly on fragile environments, and matching track ratings to your fitness and experience.
Dinner, a new stove to try, Q&A, cocoa, and gentle evening reflection close the day.
Sunday – Pack, Walk & Celebrate
We start with breakfast and a practical workshop on how to pack a bushwalking pack properly.
After packing up camp, we travel to the Cape Queen Elizabeth trailhead and begin a gentle walk to the Arch. There’s time for warm-ups, mindful movement, and settling into the pace of the trail.
At the Arch, we share lunch, reflect together, and soak in the beauty of Bruny Island’s coastline.
We wander back along the same path, and the workshop closes with heartfelt goodbyes to your new trail companions.
